COUPLED PICKLE LINE AND TANDEM COLD MILL
 1.2 million tpy complex consists of a continuous pickle line coupled with a five-stand four high tandem cold mill. It processes 600 mm - 1575 mm wide and 2 - 5.5 mm thick strip cold rolled to 0.20 - 2.5 mm. An automated roll grinding facility and waste water treatment plant were part of this complex.
Scope of Services:
Overall project management, construction management, project services, infrastructure and foundation engineering as part of an integrated team.
Project Highlights:
- An integrated project and construction management team comprising of Hatch, Dofasco and NKK personnel with full technical and financial authority for the implementation of the project
- Hatch Associates' project management systems were used for the project
- State-of-the-art in-line process control, order handling, quality control and roll shop management systems
- A fast-track project for installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment.
