Water Services
Access to water is a growing global concern, affecting industry and
municipalities alike. Challenging sources, pressure to recycle, and
stricter discharge regulations have created the need for innovative
approaches to water management.
Hatch Water is a global team of experienced water engineers focused
on providing creative and sustainable solutions to water supply, water
and wastewater treatment, and water management challenges. We
deliver the most comprehensive solutions by capitalizing on our global, multi-disciplinary expertise to provide custom-designed plants
that meet our clients’ unique requirements.
As well as designing, constructing, and commissioning water
and wastewater treatment systems, we specialize in the thorough
integration of the plant with industrial core processes and surrounding
environments. Hatch’s expertise in the mining, metals, energy, and
infrastructure sectors means that we optimize water solutions to
reflect the needs of the entire facility.
The Advantage
We take pride in successfully taking on the largest, most complex,
and most challenging projects on a global basis. With process
and technology expertise at the core of our skills, our world-class
technical personnel deliver:
- Innovative technology-based solutions
- Site-wide water management ranging from water suppy, treatment, conveyance and distribution to effluent treatment and recycle/reuse schemes
- Solutions integrated into overall client operations and needs
- Global experience, local implementation.
The Hatch Water Team is comprised of multidisciplinary experts:
chemical and civil engineers, hydrogeologists, hydrologists, as well as a global group of mechanical, piping, electrical, and controls
engineers.
The Approach
Our water engineers interact with our industrial clients’ process
engineers and operators to ensure that solutions to water-quality
issues respect our clients’ production requirements and are integrated
and compatible with process demands.
We identify and communicate with all stakeholders to ensure that
their requirements are incorporated into the overall plant design.
This not only prevents the delay of key projects due to community
concerns, but also ensures the long-term success of the project by
considering managers’ and operators’ needs.
Our objective is to provide solutions based on sound process
development providing consistent and reliable operation with
minimum capital and operating costs.
Technology Expertise
Hatch’s water capabilities are strengthened by our thorough understanding and extensive expertise with leading-edge water technologies:
- Desalination: Thermal, membrane, and emerging technologies
- Chemical Treatment: Precipitation, scale/corrosion control, softening, flocculation, clarification, and thickening
- Biological Treatment: for sewage and industrial wastewater
- Membrane Technologies: reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, micro-filtration, and membrane bioreactors
- Media filtration: multi-media filters, sand filters, greensand filters, activated carbon filters, walnut shell filters, gravity and pressure filtration
- Oil-water separation
- Acid mine drainage treatment: high density sludge, low density sludge, membranes
- Slurry handling: sludge pumping, filter presses, vacuum dryers
