Hatch is currently providing full EPCM services for several major plant expansions in Canada and Russia. Our involvement includes:

Mine infrastructure and conveyance
Shaft sinking studies
Hoisting system upgrade studies and design
Mill brownfield and greenfield projects
Infrastructure design
Dynamic modeling and process debottlenecking
Equipment selection

The potash industry is ever growing, driven in part by the worldwide demand for food. Hatch has a strong background in minerals treatment, including flotation and particle size control, which we use to help our clients optimize their potash developments in order to satisfy market demand.

Potash producers supply this essential and unique fertilizer supplement to farmers around the world and products must meet stringent quality requirements for international shipment while satisfying seasonal demand fluctuations.

Issues that affect potash production include:

Controlling water inflows to the mine
Adapting plant and equipment to changing underground conditions
Loading and handling the large quantities of product
Stringent quality control for international customers
Upgrading and expanding ageing infrastructure

Hatch recently opened an office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to better serve the potash sector. The Hatch office in Russia is likewise being expanded in response to increasing demand from potash clients in that region.
